Emsella is a straightforward and simple treatment, and there’s no special preparation needed before you visit us. You should wear comfortable, thin clothing without any metal on it when you arrive for your session. Apart from that, there is nothing stopping you from a session with our Emsella chair in Oak Ridge!
Initially we recommend patients undergo a series of 6 sessions with the Emsella chair. After the first few appointments, you’ll begin to see noticeable improvements in pelvic floor function, and a decrease in urinary incontinence symptoms! We carefully time each of your appointments to allow your muscles rest in between—just like you would work out any other muscle.
Depending on your individual needs, you may continue regular treatment sessions after the initial series. You can return for enhancement or touch-up treatments as often as you’d like. Most patients will return for these visits every 2 weeks to every 2 months.
If you are primarily seeking pelvic floor therapy to help address sexual dysfunction, you’ll receive a specific treatment protocol and will likely require additional sessions after the initial series.
