How Ellacor Works
Ellacor is an innovative device that uses hollow needles to remove tiny cores of skin. Each micro-coring needle has a diameter of less than 0.5 mm, so there is no lasting damage or scarring from the process.
On the day of your procedure, you’ll receive local anesthetic injected into the area to be treated. Once your skin is numb, Dr. Bass will use the Ellacor device to remove tiny cores of skin in an organized grid pattern. The excess skin will be removed through hollow needles.
After removal, your body’s healing process will activate, closing up these holes and tightening the remaining skin in the process. These micro-cores are very small and should begin to heal quickly!
Recovery From Ellacor
The typical downtime after micro-coring in Oak Ridge is about 7 to 10 days in total. During this time you’ll have redness, swelling, bruising, and mild tenderness. There will also be visible marks on the skin where the cores were removed. Those with more aggressive skin removal may have longer downtimes. Downtime implies that you will not be able to work during this time. . This usually fades away over the following days, but during this time, you should refrain from using makeup or skin products in the area.
You may notice some residual marks on your skin, but these will fade away too as your skin heals. If you’ve had more comprehensive skin removal with Ellacor, it may take longer to recover fully.

Around 1 to 2 months after treatment, you may begin to notice your initial results, but these will continue to improve until around 3 to 6 months after treatment. This is because it takes time for your body’s natural healing process to bring in new cells and lay down new collagen and elastin.
