HydraFacial is the only hydra-dermabrasion procedure that combines cleansing, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection simultaneously. This multi-modality platform optimizes skin health with a 3-step process:

Steps of the HydraFacial Treatment

Step 1: Cleanse + Peel: A physical and chemical peel to cleanse and exfoliate.

Step 2: Extract + Hydrate: Remove debris from pores using painless suction, while nourishing with intense moisturizers.

Step 3: Fuse + Protect: Detoxify and protect the skin from environmental free-radicals while replenishing the skin’s natural hydration and elasticity.

Frequently Asked Hydrafacial Questions

What is HydraFacial?

The HydraFacial is a 30 min procedure that removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities while simultaneously cleansing and hydrating the skin. The final step is the infusion of moisturizing serums and vital nutrients like antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid. The treatment is soothing, refreshing, non-irritating and the results are immediately noticeable. HydraFacial is a non-invasive treatment with no downtime and it is safe for all skin types.

Can HydraFacial treatment be used for all skin types?

Yes. Even the most sensitive skin easily tolerates HydraFacial treatments. Your skin care professional at Shea may choose specific treatment serums and/or customize the treatment to the needs of your particular skin conditions.

How long does the treatment take?

A HydraFacial takes about 30 minutes.

What kind of downtime is required for a HydraFacial?

There is really no downtime and no pain. You can put your makeup on and return to your normal activities right after the treatment.

What results may be expected?

After receiving a HydraFacial treatment, our patients report that their face is glowing and radiant, that their pores are super clean, and that their skin feels fresh and bright.

How many treatments are needed to see results?

One treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, decreasing pore size, lightening brown spots, and improving skin tone and texture. This is also a great way to treat oily and congested skin. The best result will come with monthly treatments and the use of excellent skincare products at home.

Why is HydraFacial good for my skin?

Hydration is the foundation of healthy, radiant skin. Irritation of the skin has been proven to increase signs of aging. HydraFacial is a hydrating and non-irritating treatment.

How often should I have a HydraFacial?

We recommend monthly HydraFacial treatments to improve the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles, lighten brown spots, decrease pores size, improve skin tone and texture and clean up oily and congested skin.

Scientific Studies Identify the Benefits of HydraFacial Treatments

In March 2009, at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) 67th Annual Meeting, Bruce M Freedman, MD presented data that hydra-dermabrasion therapy with HydraFacial treatments decreased pore size, decreased fine lines, decreased hyperpigmentation, and improved skin tone and texture.

Dr. Freedman presented further research from biopsy specimens of patients that received HydraFacial treatments in addition to microdermabrasion showing increased epidermal basal layer cellular activity, increased collagen hyalinization in the dermis, and increased numbers of fibroblasts in the treated skin.

The findings provide evidence that HydraFacial treatments used alone or in combination with other aesthetic procedures, provide healthy, thicker, less wrinkly skin.

In April 2009, at the 29thAnnual Conference of the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery, Bruce M Freedman, MD presented his research that when Intense Pulsed Light photo-facial (IPL) treatments were followed by HydraFacial antioxidant treatments, that the levels of oxidative damage to the skin (as measure by lipid peroxide concentration) were decreased to normal pre-treatment levels, that antioxidant levels in the skin (which are decreased by IPL) are increased, and further, that skin moisture content (which is decreased by IPL) is significantly increased. Thus, HydraFacial with its antioxidant serum improves the outcome of IPL by reducing some of the negative effects of this very beneficial treatment.
